Vice chancellor, Hallmark University, Ijebu-Itele , Ogun State, Prof. Segun Odunola, has disclosed that the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) has accredited the accounting department of the institution.
Speaking at the 7th matriculation ceremony of the Institution titled: “Character in Learning – The connection”, Odunola, said with the accreditation, the students of the institution would be exempted from the foundation examination of the professional institute, saying the students would also benefit from many programmes of ICAN for development, fellowship and scholarships.
LEADERSHIP Friday reports that the university matriculated 125 students with 57 from the Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences and 68 from the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences.
According to him, the university has secured the accreditation of four programmes from the National Universities Commission (NUC).
He said, “This is a lifetime opportunity that has been given to you. Please guard it jealously by investing your time and energy into your academic pursuit for a rewarding future. This is a progressive call for you to strive for excellence in your academic work, field of play, and behaviours.”
